    Acupuncture

    Initial full body acupuncture treatments include a full patient intake including: chief complaint, history of present illness, past medical history, family history, lifestyle, and a review of systems. Vitals include blood pressure as well as TCM pulse taking and viewing the tongue. Total time for the initial intake plus treatment is up to 90 minutes.

    Follow-up treatments include a shorter intake plus vitals and a follow-up treatment. Total time is up to 60 minutes.

    In addition to acupuncture, other modalities may be used based on the patient diagnosis. These may include electro-acupuncture, Tui Na Chinese Medical Massage, Cupping, Gua Sha, LED lamp, or Moxibustion.

    Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation: Cosmetic and Facial Acupuncture

    Ear Acupuncture - NADA/AcuDetox

    The National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) or Acu-detox protocol uses 5 specific points to needle in each ear. The protocol was originally discovered and used for addiction and substance abuse, but has since evolved and proven successful in treating: -Trauma and PTSD -Stress and Anxiety -Mild Depression -Weight loss/gain -Smoking cessation and other addictions -Immunity -Relaxation

    Recent studies have also shown NADA to be beneficial with issues and side-effects related to menopause or chemotherapy.

    Community Acupuncture

    Community acupuncture began in China and is mostly how acupuncture is practiced in Asia. Treatments are provided in a common room where all patients are seated comfortably in a chair or recliners during the session. Often times, people may choose to bring a friend or family member with them for a “together experience” that enhances the therapeutic effects of the collective healing. Because of the seated and group nature of the community setting, patients remained clothed, acupuncture points are on arms and legs as well as the ear; areas easily accessible to the practitioner.

    Benefits to community acupuncture other than the obvious benefits of acupuncture are the added therapeutic effect of community healing. Community acupuncture is offered at a lower cost than a private acupuncture sessions. The more affordable fee allows patients to receive acupuncture more frequently, which is how acupuncture works best. This allows patients to receive the care they need in order to feel better.

    Costs are usually on a sliding scale, based upon what the patient is able to afford. Average costs between £10-20 a session, that still includes a patient intake and up to 30 minute treatment.

  • Bamboo Max - Ontake Moxibustion

    Ontake (or Ontake warm bamboo therapy) is a relatively modern adaptation of traditional Japanese moxibustion techniques. It uses a piece of specially prepared bamboo filled with burning moxa wool. When gently tapped, rolled, or pressed along the meridians or acupuncture points, it delivers rhythmic heat and vibration to the body. The treatment uses a metronome that goes to the bpm of the channel being addressed. The treatment is very holistic covering neck, arms, shoulders, abdomen, back, hips, and legs. The patient first lays on the their front then the back.
