AUTUMN ALCHEMY 🍂
A seasonal afternoon to make, move, eat & slow down
Saturday 17 October 2026 | 1:00–4:00pm | Warmington
As the season turns and autumn settles in, join me for a relaxed afternoon inspired by the plants, food, movement and traditions of the season.
We'll spend three hours learning, making, moving, eating and simply enjoying autumn together.
What we'll do
🌿 A gentle autumn herbal walk
Weather permitting, we'll take a gentle walk around Warmington to notice the plants and herbs of the season and learn a little about their traditional uses and place in autumn.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll bring the seasonal plant exploration indoors.
🌱 Hands-on botanical craft
We'll make a simple seasonal botanical creation to take home.
The exact craft will be guided by the season and what I'm working with at the time, so there will be a little element of discovery on the day.
🥣 Warming food & seasonal nourishment
We'll share a warming kitchari tasting while I introduce some ideas from Chinese dietary therapy in a cooking demo and seasonal eating — including how autumn's change of season can influence the way we think about warmth, nourishment and food.
You'll also receive the recipe to make at home.
☯️ Gentle Qi Gong
We'll finish with a gentle seasonal Qi Gong practice, giving you a chance to breathe, move and settle into the afternoon.
No previous Qi Gong experience is needed.
🌼 Chrysanthemum tea, tea & cake
We'll finish with something warm to drink, a little cake and time to simply enjoy being together.
🍂 A LITTLE CHINESE AUTUMN TRADITION
The workshop falls just one day before Double Ninth — Chongyang, which takes place on Sunday 18 October this year.
Double Ninth is a traditional Chinese autumn festival associated with chrysanthemums, spending time outdoors, seasonal food and gathering with others. In its modern form, it is also a day for honouring and spending time with older generations. Remitly
Those ideas feel particularly fitting for Autumn Alchemy.
It's an afternoon to step outside, connect with the season, learn something new, make something with your hands, nourish yourself, move gently and enjoy time together.
And if you'd like to bring someone special with you, there's a little reason to do so...
