Introduction to Tai Chi & Qigong

Four weeks of movement, breath and traditional Chinese practice

Starting November 2026 | £60 for four sessions

Have you ever wanted to try Tai Chi or Qigong but weren't quite sure where to begin?

I'm pleased to introduce a new four-week Introduction to Tai Chi & Qigong at Peaks & Points Acupuncture & Integrative Health.

These two traditional Chinese practices offer different but complementary approaches to movement, breathing, posture and focused awareness. In this introductory programme, we'll explore both, learning some of the fundamental principles while developing confidence and familiarity with the movements.

You don't need any previous experience. The sessions are designed to give you a welcoming introduction and a foundation you can continue building upon.

What will we explore?

Tai Chi: Learning the foundations

We'll begin with the fundamentals of Tai Chi, including posture, stepping, weight shifting, coordination and flowing movement.

You'll start learning basic stepping and selected movements from the 10-Step Tai Chi form, gradually becoming familiar with how individual movements connect and flow together. The emphasis will be on understanding and practising the foundations rather than focusing on an entire form to start.

Medical Qigong: Movement, breath and the Five Elements

Alongside Tai Chi, we'll explore Medical Qigong practices, drawing on the traditional principles of Chinese medicine.

We'll begin by exploring the Lungs and their association with the Metal element and work through all the elements as we near the end of December and towards winter, associated with the Kidneys and the Water element.

This gives us an opportunity to explore how Qigong is traditionally connected with the seasons, the Five Elements and the different aspects of our physical and energetic wellbeing.

We'll also look at some of the traditional ideas and philosophy behind these practices as we learn.

How can you take part?

There are three ways to participate, so you can choose the format that works best for you.

In-person classes

Mondays at 6:30pm

Starting Monday 30 November 2026 - 4 live classes

Join us for a weekly guided class at a local village hall.

Live online classes

Thursdays at 6:30pm

Starting Thursday 3 December 2026 - 3 live classes, 1 recording released before Christmas

Join from home and take part in the class live.

**Final class December 24 will be a Recording Only**

Recording-only option

Prefer to practise in your own time? You can enrol in the four-week programme and receive the recordings without attending either live class.

All participants receive access to the session recordings, whether attending in person, joining online or choosing the recording-only option. This means you can revisit the movements and practise at your own pace.
